Camp Leftovers
Last Friday saw all our senior students partake in a long table lunch in an effort to use up the last of the food we had left over from camp.
Mrs B made a ‘bewdiful’ vege soup while I cheated somewhat, and reheated the last of our spaghetti bolagnese (when I got back from camp, I discovered 2 hidden containers in my freezer). We had a box of pears left over so Mrs Toia showed her creativeness and made pear pizzas and flans for dessert. I wasn’t surpised that by the end of lunchtime, all that was left were a few crumbs.
It was a great day and I was thankful for all the students who helped clean up at the end.
My only quandary now however, is what to do with the 3 boxes of Weet-Bix we have left over! After giving it some serious thought, I’ve decided its time for the students to put their culinary skills to the test.
WEEK-BIX CHALLENGE
In your group, select a recipe that has Week-Bix as one of it main ingredients. Using all your skills, cook your culinary delight and present to our judges for tasting.
Our judges are certainly an illustrious group.
Mr Scott – Creator of the extremely popular staffroom favourite – Chocolate cake with double thick cream.
Mrs Garbelini – Connoisseur of all things delicious
Mrs Burgess – ‘I don’t bake’ but I know what tastes good!
Mrs Scott – A specialist in getting value for her money
Good luck to all participants.
2011 Camp on PhotoPeach
Yes, it is true. I don’t like to bake. Though I really can’t wait to try some of the creations made from Weetbix. Personally I would be very happy to eat them with butter and Vegemite smeared all over them.
What a great experience for you all. Looks like you were really enjoying yourselves. Thank you to the teachers and parents who helped organise and run the camp.
